Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson has described the decision of the State House of Assembly to declare the four seats of its members, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress, APC, as a step in the right direction.

The Governor in a statement issued on Friday night by his Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, said the action of the State Legislature was not only constitutional, but will also instill party discipline and sanitize the polity.

Bayelsa State Governor, Hon. Seriake Dickson has inaugurated a 12 Member Executive Council of the State Elders Consultative Forum, with a mandate to advise the Government on the diversification of the State’s economy.

Governor Dickson, who gave the charge during the inauguration of the council in Government House, Yenagoa, said the move became imperative, because of the drop in federal allocation, which has hampered the spate of developmental projects in the State.
