Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, former governor of Bayelsa State, Chief D.S.P. Alamieyeseigha, Ijaw leaders from around the world and other political heavyweights from the South-South geo-political zone are among dignitaries that will attend the second term declaration of Bayelsa State governor, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson on the 8th of September, 2015 in Yenagoa.

Others expected at the event include, the national leadership of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) PDP governors and National Assembly members.

The Bayelsa State Government has expressed deep shock and total disbelief, the news of the sudden demise of the immediate past State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Col. Sam Inokoba, retd.

In his reaction, Governor Henry Seriake Dickson described Col. Inokoba’s demise, as a personal loss to him, having worked to ensure his emergence as the Chairman of the PDP in the State and supported him, all through his tenure as Chairman, stressing that, he is deeply saddened by the incident.

The Bayelsa State Government has declared a balance of N2.8 billion as at the end of July 2015.

Governor Seriake Dickson, who made the declaration at the monthly transparency media briefing for the month of July, 2015 expressed concern that, revenue from the federation account has dropped drastically from N18 billion in 2012 to about N9 billion.
